How to Change the Web App Session Timeout

Written by Jorick Ritsema

You can control how long users stay logged in to the ShuttleSub Web App for your hotel.

This setting defines the idle session timeout — meaning users will be logged out automatically after a period of inactivity.

This setting only applies to the Web App.It does not affect the iOS app.

Who Can Change This Setting?

Only users with one of the following roles can update the session timeout:

  • Administrator

  • Hotel Admin

Supervisors and other roles can view users but cannot change the timeout.

How to Change the Session Timeout

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Open the Users page

  3. Click the Session timeout button (top right)

  4. Select the desired timeout in minutes

  5. Click Save

The new setting will apply immediately to the current session and to all future Web App sessions for your hotel.

Available Timeout Options

You can choose from:

  • 15 minutes

  • 30 minutes

  • 45 minutes

  • 60 minutes

  • 90 minutes

  • 120 minutes (maximum)

The maximum allowed timeout is 2 hours.

How It Works

  • The timeout is based on inactivity

  • If a user does not interact with the Web App within the selected time, they will be logged out automatically

  • Active users will remain logged in

Each hotel has its own session timeout setting.

When Will Users Be Logged Out?

Users will be redirected to the login page if:

  • They are inactive longer than the configured timeout

  • Their session expires

  • They manually log out

If a user is logged out due to inactivity, they will see a timeout message on the login screen.

Does This Affect the iOS App?

No.

The session timeout setting only applies to the Web App.The iOS app manages authentication separately.
